In many cases, removing the inflamed nerve and the accompanying structures, as well as thoroughly cleaning and sealing the inner canal, can significantly prolong a tooth\u2019s lifespan.<\/p>\n<p>The success rate and in turn the retention of the tooth essentially depends on the precision of this treatment, usually involving a time-consuming and precise treatment of the root canals with the help of a binocular magnifier or a microscope. Completion of the treatment includes sealing of the root canal and quick and precise treatment of the retained tooth.<\/p>\n<p>This type of treatment offers a very good alternative to tooth extraction and the then necessary replacement such as an implant, a dental bridge or dentures.<\/p>\n<p>Based on extensive additional dental training in this area, endodontics has become one of the key areas of our group practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo-1588776813941-dcf9c55e84d2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h2>Root canal retreatment<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>This treatment is applied if the tooth did not heal as expected after initial root canal treatment. The root canal filling material will be removed, the root canal will again be carefully treated, cleaned, disinfected and subsequently, refilled and resealed.<\/p>\n<p>The reasons for retreatment may be due to an insufficiently filled root canal, which in turn may lead to a new bacterial infection.<\/p>\n<p>This procedure may, for example, be affected by existing root canal posts.
